no end in-sight

the sober calls of a fallen grace
disparity from misfortune
one can only look at shadows or the color of their shoes
walks feel as if being adrift
waiting, contemplating...

never-ending chatters crawl
leaping through importance
ending nowhere
a journey taken but ending in loss
brave men with empty hearts
cowards filled only with strength
bounded by reality, coerced from fiction

are you the one who is loved?
gazing into distances that seem too close
foraging for life, only to be trapped by living
a rut without a hollow
a cry without company.

go to sleep

comatose. another dying patient grasping onto every last breath of life.
forgiveness? some say he was asking for it.
the scars of his body, the scars of his rest.
agony permeates through his psyche like a fish out of water.
one thought pervades his consciousness, "we suffer for dignity."
dignity unknown... only thoughtless speech from a dying man.

the television is on. the sheets wrapped so tightly.
modern sarcophagus.
you asked for dignity?
echoing florescent lights. black noise.
darkness within the light.
raise your arms child, feel that which soaks your body of decay.
purification.
